THE PRODUCTION

SERPENTINE is an independent feature film written by Mark Lund and in development by his production and marketing organization The Ashton Times. As Lund accomplished with his feature film JUSTICE IS MIND, he put into production a short film version to develop interest in the project.

The short film version of SERPENTINE, titled The Short Program, consists of the first ten pages of the feature length script that introduces the primary characters and storyline. The short film version started principal photography on October 30, 2016 and was produced in central Massachusetts. Northstar Ice Sports in Westborough, MA, The Verve, Crowne Plaza in Natick, MA and a private residence in Sturbridge, MA served as shooting locations. Foley Motorsports of Shrewsbury, MA provided automotive services to the production.

SERPENTINE, The Short Program, premiered on March 6, 2017 at the Strand Theatre in Clinton, MA. On March 7 the short premiered on Amazon. With part of the story taking place in North and South Korea, along with United States intelligence agencies and Russia being in the headlines, SERPENTINE is well timed.

Set in the present day, the story could best be described as TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY and THE AMERICANS meet the sport of figure skating with a hint of MADAM SECRETARY. This political thriller traverses a season in the sport that begins after the New England Championships and concludes shortly after the World Championships in Moscow. Like JUSTICE IS MIND, Lund aims to produce the project in Massachusetts and the surrounding states. SERPENTINE will be directed by Mark Lund.
